JUNE RECAP

JUNE 1 - BOY DISCOVERS THE INSIDE OF HIS NOSE

Stryker was stoked to discover there are two holes in his nose...and they often produce "goodies."  This is the only time you will see me laugh and encourage my son to pick his nose...it was really hilarious!

JUNE 2 - BEE & IAN ENGAGEMENTS
My niece Brooklyn and her betrothed, Ian Miller, had an engagement session over the weekend.  Here are some of the highlights...

JUNE 4 & 6 - CLANDESTINE HANDLING
Now that Stryker boy is mobile, it is very hard to get a good picture of him.  I know this, and yet I still concoct ideas that involve his cooperation with the camera.  This year's Father's Day present for his dad and Gpa S?  Why pictures of him holding letters for the words "Dad" and "Gpa," of course!  It took a couple of days and numberless shots to get any halfway decent "final shots."  The kid's a trooper though, and is sweet to put up with his mom's craziness.  :)

Stryker's developing quite the little personality as well.  He's really funny and likes to "ham it up" so that other people laugh and think he's funny too.  One of Stryker's favorite times to act a little silly is mealtime...

JUNE 12 - TOO SMART, FUN WITH THE MAMA, & CRIB
Remember how Stryker used to break out of his jammies when he was three months old?  Yeah, the Houdini skills are ever-present and increasingly more complex.  Stryker LOVES outside but his mama chooses not to do the dishes and laundry out of doors - so weird! - so when she's working, he sometimes gets to enjoy a door to the outside being open.  Said door must be blocked somehow or boy would be outside eating ants and dirt clumps, however, big objects, such as a highchair, fail to phase Stryker as he attempts to get what he wants.  Here he is planning his escape...

Eric and I finally buckled down and took on the project of sanding and finishing Stryker's crib.  Since the weather is fickle, we sanded in the garage and polyurethaned in the basement.  The final result is quite stunning and though hesitant for a few nights, Stryker now loves his very special bed!!!

 JUNE 14  - MINION
I found the perfect shirt for Stryker for Bee & Ian's reception!  Yep, he's my awesome little minion!

JUNE 15 - DATE NIGHT & SPICY LADIES
We enjoyed a date night {we've been slackers about date nights lately!} with dinner at Bombay House with Scott and Steph.  After dinner, Steph and I posed for some updated Spicy Designs portraits for our Etsy site and such.  It's hilarious to pose together because there is an entire foot difference between me and Steph {and she's uber petite}.  I felt like an Amazon standing next to her...

JUNE 15 - WALKING!
The Boy walks!  And he carries stuff around whilst walking...which you would think makes the process harder to manage, but he figures it out somehow.  The kid's a marvel!  :)

JUNE 17 - FATHER'S DAY
Eric is the perfect dad for Stryker boy!  Stryker's love and admiration for his big daddy-o is clear.  They are two peas in a pod, my hubby and boy, and I am so grateful for both of them!

Helping dad read his card...

Dad proudly displays boy's pictures on his toolbox

I made a "Dadville" shirt for E.  Stryker can give his dad a massage with his cars...  :)

E was pretty jealous Stryker got a sweet minion shirt, so...

...I got him one too.  :)
After present opening, boy needed some "play on the floor time."  How he ended up with a wipey and why he decided to use it as a hat is beyond me.  E affectionately calls the following video...

JUNE 22 - HELLO?  ANYBODY THERE?
Sometimes Stryker's genius is fascinating and completely unnerving.  Today started out like any other, but one minute Stryker was playing with his music table and the next minute he was holding a piece of it to his ear and gabbing away...as though it were a phone.  We have never "played phone," so any reference the child has had to it is complete observance.  And the fact that he reasoned a small, hard piece of plastic resembled a cell phone is crazy awesome.  I do believe he called both Grandmas, cousin-twin, his dad, and Uncle Kevy.  :)

As mentioned before, boy likes to carry things whilst exploring these early stages of walking.  Personally, I think the process would be extremely difficult and cumbersome, but he seems to prefer it.  It's rare to see him cruising around without something occupying his hands.  Horse is often a key player.

JUNE 24 - BIG LIKE DAD
I love that this one...

wants to be just like this one...

MY BOYS ROCK!!!

JUNE 28 - MR. CLEAN
So not only is my kid super cute, super smart, and super hilarious, he's also super useful.  :)  Stryker has an affinity to cleaning products like his mother.  Here he is sweeping the floor...and the video shows his attention to detail and "spot checking" the tough spots.  IT'S AWESOME!  :)

JUNE 30 - MORE WALKING & MONKEY TOES
Stryker has inherited the amazing Sorensen Toe Skills.  Why bend down and use your hands with two feet and ten toes will do?

JULY RECAP COMING SOON!!!
