FEBRUARY RECAP

FEBRUARY 8
stryker has "updated" his crawl to resemble a pirate.  it's pretty hilarious.  he is also very good at inspecting anything that his dad brings home.  you know, the dad needs help with quality control, but it can be scary sometimes.  :)

FEBRUARY 9
stryker gets to play with a lot of really fun toys whilst his mama makes breakfast or does the dishes.  this morning his mama pulled his dad's old football game out of the closet.  with flashing lights and noises, who could want more!?

FEBRUARY 10
we enjoyed a really fun visit with sister friend and heidi girl over the weekend.  since valentine's day is nigh approaching, we decided a cousin-twiner photo shoot was in order!  the two kids are hilarious together, really good friends, but heidi was just not in the mood for pictures.  i think she wonders about stryker's over-enthusiasm for the camera...  :)

"Stryker, what is your deal?  Why are you freaking out?  It's just a camera!"

"What?  I thought I was supposed to smile all crazy when mama said 'Smile'"

"How about this half smile, Heidi?  Is that better?"  "Yep!"

"Hey, you're doing it again!"

"And that makes me sad.  I don't want to smile right now, Stryker!"

"Hey, look!  My mama just handed me a Valentine."

"I don't want to look at the Valentine, Stryker!  I don't want to smile!  I don't want to wear this headband!"

"Well here, Heidi.  You can have it if it will make you feel better."

After hugs and words of encouragement from her mama, Heidi braves it again...

FEBRUARY 11

after some beauty sleep, heidi was ready to try the "camera experience" once again.  this time she was sporting a new outfit from auntie lynnette.

"Wait, mom.  Does my bow look alright?"

"Hi, world!  It's me Heidi!!!"

"CHEESE!"

later that evening, we hosted a little birthday shindig for my niece brooklyn who is attending byu.  her awesome mom and sister happened to be in town, so we were stoked about being with them too!  we also got to meet brooklyn's friend, ian miller, so it truly was a party!

FEBRUARY 12

stryker's been working on his "standing by himself" skills and finds the stairs to be a very helpful tool in accomplishing such a task.  this morning he could hear auntie anna and heidi upstairs, so he was getting really excited and squawking back at them.

"Hey you guys!  Look down here, look down here..."

"Hey, Auntie Anna just said my name!  Wahoo!"

FEBRUARY 15

now stryker's really got the standing thing down!  he can pull himself up by his toy boxes and pick out whatever toys he wants to play with!

i let stryker play with my keys today.  man, you would have thought the kid was in heaven!

stryker's always loved music, but he's starting to move his body to the rhythm.  i love it!  this isn't the greatest video of his moves...he tends to simmer down when the camera's rolling...but at least you get the idea.

and after such hard play, the little dude crashed out.  i love how monkey often ends up being his pillow.

then we had to show our rockin' dance moves to dad once he got home from work.  this is the "sitting version."

FEBRUARY 28

i love having stryker boy around because he's such a great helper!  his current forte is sorting laundry.  :)  it snowed today, so i caught stryker watching it fall.  he's captivated with the stuff.

and the 24th and 27th were huge days here at our house because two of stryker's bottom teeth finally made their debut.  here is my attempt to get some shots of them...

yeah, not so much.  but later in the day i had a brilliant idea and took pictures whilst boy was eating.  so, here they are!

FEBRUARY 29

more of my awesome boy's help around the house - dishes!  he did them whilst i baked the world's best recipe for french bread...if you want the recipe, let me know and i'll email it to you.
