ever had an instantaneous craving for some baked good but realized you didn't have any soft butter?  i learned a cool trick that allows that "instantaneousness" to remain intact.  :)  simply grate refrigerated butter and viola!, it's ready to use and creams like a dream.  this technique works for frozen butter too, though it does require sitting at room temperature for a little bit.

and this is how stryker entertained himself whilst the mama was baking.  think this kid needs a "johnny jump-up"!?  :)
