a few adventures

we started off august with a blowout - a candle blow out, that is. :) our dear spicy added another year of experience and wisdom to her repertoire of...experience and wisdom. we are so grateful for her goodness, talents, and friendship. simply put, SHE ROCKETH!

stryker celebrated his 16.5 week birthday with his first bowl of oatmeal. he ate and *swallowed* several spoonfuls of the watered down mush and really seemed to enjoy it. the video e took was after a few bites so a bit of it wasn't swallowed. we're pretty sure stryker boy is gonna love on the food. we're hoping the cereal will help fill up his tummy a little better which will in turn help him to sleep better. {oh how the mama prays for that!!!}

e had the fathers and sons camp-out this weekend, so being the good wifey pooh that i am, i started working on his tinfoil dinner whilst he was madly working to paint nat and tyler's truck before he needed to head up the mountain. i was chopping up some carrots {of course!} and BAM! something REALLY STUPID happened. i sliced *almost* through the tip of my thumb, cutting a small portion of my fingernail clear off. the bleeding was quite profuse, so i called e asking him to return home as quickly as possible - mainly because i didn't think i could load up stryker and drive to urgent care whilst holding the tip of my thumb together. e diagnosed the situation and decided i could get away without stitches {sorry if we made the wrong choice, dr. mike}. he bandaged me up and finished his tinfoil dinner. :)

since e was off having some fun in the mountains, spicy, SAC, z, little man, and i decided to have some fun of our own. we packed a delish picnic dinner and hiked to stewart falls {located up provo canyon by aspen grove}. IT WAS AWESOME! little man was a trooper and behaved perfectly for *almost* the entire trip. little z was pretty amazing too and hiked a huge chunk of the trail all by herself. not to mention the incredible 5 month preggo spicy setting a pretty aggressive pace for us to follow. man, she's fit! :) it felt so great to be outdoors, breathing fresh air, using our legs and lungs.

we are hoping to throw in a few trips before the end of the summer, but we'll see what happens. hope all is well with you and yours!
