the end.

friday, february 18, 2011 was my last day at c.c. it was a bittersweet day. a surreal day. there are certain things in life that, at times, feel like they will never end and then one day you wake up to your "last day of that certain thing." and it's weird.

but ends are often good because not only do they allows others to realize how much they appreciate you and all that you have done for them, but they allow you to realize the same thing. i made a difference every single day i showed up to work. there were times when it didn't feel like that, but i know that a difference was made all the same. i was an important member of a team - a team that truly valued my time, talents, experience, creativity, optimism, support, and contributions. it's nice to know that you will be missed.

our new executive chef made an amazing lunch {philly cheese steak sandwiches, salad, and french fries} complete with rich 'n creamy peanut butter cheesecake provided by our baker extraordinaire. it was awesome! when asked what the best thing about working at c.c. was i shouted, "the food!" and then quickly added, "oh, and the people!" i will miss all those tasty morsels. and it was fun to spend one last time laughing and chatting with my dear friends.

and with this end brings another beginning. a huge beginning as a mother - a job far more important than anything else and oh so much more rewarding. so here's to taking the time to realize that i will be making a difference, every single day, in the life of our little one. and how wonderful it will be!
